"From the rolling hills of Devon, the vast veldt of Africa to the weathered shores of Australia, my forms have emerged".

I have been a Ceramic Artist for over 35 years and have exhibited in numerous shows and galleries throughout Australia.
I mainly work with stoneware and porcelain clay bodies and fire in my electric, gas and sometimes raku kilns.   I also have access to a wood fired kiln in the Winter months which adds another dimension to the forms and desired aesthetics.    My love of texture has drawn me to experiment with crystalline glazes, as it has a certain illusiveness and depth which still intrigues me.

In February 2016 I held an Exhibition entitled "Reflections of Japan" in conjunction with Textile Artist, Alan Tremain, with a Japanese Shibori/Boro theme.   I've always been interested in texture and so tried to incorporate the 'Boro" aesthetic which originates in the North of Japan.  Various textiles were used to patch the jackets worn by workers in the rice paddies centuries ago and some of these items are now very collectable.   My current work (platters, teapots and bowls) tries to capture the feel of some of the patchwork/texture that might have been incorporated into the jackets.     Some of these forms I call East Meets West - incorporating the Boro textural effect with some of the natural flora of Australia.
In March 2017,  I exhibited at the Art Studios Gallery in North Gosford with contemporary Artist, Carol Gill, entitled "Confluence".
Pleased to say that I also won a section of the Sydney Teapot Competition/Exhibition held at the Kerrie Lowe Gallery entitled "Unearthing Australia" - my winning teapot was entitled "Tracks".     Over the last 4 years I have also exhibited in many group Exhibitions and unfortunately a few have now been postponed until 2022, due to the COVID 19 pandemic.

I have been President of the Ceramic Study Group 2010-2014, currently Vice President, now situated at Balcombe Heights Estate.   A member of the North Shore Craft Group and The Australian Ceramics Association.      Have been President over the last four years of the Ferry Artists Gallery at Wisemans Ferry down on the Hawkesbury River, NSW, where I always have a body of work on display and for sale.

My interest for the arts has now led me to be part of a working group "Enhancing the Arts" organised by the Hawkesbury Art Gallery and Council.
